Luke Hostetter

Getting to Know... Luke Hostetter

What is...
your graduation year: 2009
your personal goal this season: Beat Preston in Sectionals
your best shot in tennis: Forehand approach down the line
your worst shot in tennis: Low two-handed backhand on the run when my opponent's closing the net. Overhead topspin lob down the line a close second.
your favorite tennis match you've played (and why): Deon Shafer - Warsaw. It taught me two things: 1. you don't need to be tall to kick butt. And 2. i need to be more aggressive if i want to succeed at the highest level of high school tennis.
your favorite tennis memory (and why): Beating David Stutzman in the first round of sectionals because it was a really tough match that i had to raise my game for and i really wanted to avenge our team's loss.
your favorite "Night Out" story (and why): I liked playing at midnight 2 years ago and i thought it was really cool. Not necessarily a "Night Out" story, but we should do that again this year.
your favorite book of the Bible: Luke of course. No but i enjoy hearing the teachings of Jesus and about how we need to be peaceful and loving contradicting the Old Testament a bit.
your favorite restaurant to eat at after a match: If it's any match, i usually eat at a nearby Subway. If the reference is to a team match, I'd go with Pizza King.
your favorite sport besides tennis: Table tennis (soccer is a close second)

Who is...
your favorite men's tennis player: !Vamos David Ferrer!
your favorite women's tennis player: Maria Kirilenko
your "role model": Tough one
your favorite doubles partner: Anyone but Jared Schwartz :)
the person you'd most want to play doubles with out of anyone in history: John McEnroe in his prime (Fed a close second)
your most likable opponent: Preston Swain
the funniest team member: Triple Wildabeast (Jake Gerig)
the quietest team member: Harrison
the hardest-working team member: Kashmar
the team member who would make the best coach: Matt Miller

What...
do you want to do post-High School: College/job
do you eat for breakfast: Milk and cereal. Sometimes orange juice.
time do you go to bed: 10:30 to 11:00
subject makes you fall asleep: PreCalc/Chemistry/US History/English/Jubilate, basically anything but Church History and Study Hall
would you give as a new nickname to the tennis team: The Bethany Bamboozles.
