Jonny Shenk

Here's the profile on your latest Lasercat, the Russian Jonny Shenk!

What is...
your graduation year: 2009
your personal goal this season: Play #2 singles (or go undefeated at #3)
your best shot in tennis: Overhead or lob
your worst shot in tennis: Mid-court volley
your favorite tennis match you've played (and why): Regular season vs Northwood (Ben Baker) So much crazy stuff happened, including a twisted ankle, a blister, a soaking rainstorm, moving to the racquet club for the last set and a half, me almost breaking my racket against the wall, and somehow still winning after about 3 hours. Team wise, the victory over Fairfield in the first round of sectionals was the best.
your favorite tennis memory (and why): Those two matches and countless hours of playing with my dad
your favorite "Night Out" story (and why): Nathan Hostetter throwing up the "disgusting" drink that actually tasted ok. Everyone else downed it without any problem and then he was over there gagging and gasping for air.
your favorite book of the Bible: Romans
your favorite restaurant to eat at after a match: Pizza King without doubt
your favorite sport besides tennis: Basketball if Frisbee doesn't count as a sport

Who is...
your favorite men's tennis player: Marat Safin
your favorite women's tennis player: Maria Sharapova
your "role model": My Dad
your favorite doubles partner: Johnny Kauffman
the person you'd most want to play doubles with out of anyone in history: Stephen Colbert
your most likable opponent: Ben Baker (Northwood) and Ryan Miller (Goshen)
the funniest team member: Jeremy Thomas
the quietest team member: Justin Gregor on opposite day
the hardest-working team member: Luke Hostetter
the team member who would make the best coach: Johnny Kauffman

What...
do you want to do post-High School: Go to college, keep playing tennis, hopefully go overseas for a bit
do you eat for breakfast: Usually nothing
time do you go to bed: Not before 11
subject makes you fall asleep: Chemistry
would you give as a new nickname to the tennis team: Bethany Lasercats
