All State Academic Team

Awards Selected by the Team:
MVP: Noah Schrock
Sportsmanship: Keagan Meyer
JV MVP: Isaya Magatti
Most Improved: Ender Finnigan

Coach Awards:
The Challenger: Aaron Hochstetler
- Always up to meet the challenge of any hitting partner, any game!
- Favorite Match: Challenge matches versus our varsity doubles

From Zero to Hero: Eli Steiner
- From literally having no instruction even to winning some matches!
- Favorite Match: NorthWood, watching him get his first win

Competitor: Lucas
- Lucas always assumes he can play at a higher level, and looks for how to get there
- Favorite Match: Westview, but I didn’t get to see much of that. For me, it was Triton, moving serving and taking down a player who’d played varsity this year.

Early Mornings and Late Nights: Josiah Aguilar Clark
- Often here hitting on the wall in the morning, or staying after practice to play a little more
- Favorite Match: Fairfield, watching him play against high quality players and learn so much

The Clincher: Judah Miller
- In the 5 matches that we won 3-2 this season, he was the deciding point in all of them!
- Favorite Match: Westview, because of the joy of it. But the Sectional was the best!

Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick: Malachi Yoder
- Malachi isn’t loud and flamboyant, but he patrols that net with power, breaking people’s faces and the court signs 🙂
- Favorite Match: Getting the win at Jimtown in 3 sets, and pushing Elkhart with such good play

Right There: Silas Martin
- Silas’s level of play was so high this season. He had the most JV wins. He’s right there, ready to excel onto the varsity.
- Favorite Match: Blackhawk was my favorite one to watch. Though we won easily, Silas was really putting people in difficult positions, flying around and slamming things away.

JV MVP: Isaya Magatti
- A leader for the JV team in terms of position (playing #1S) and practice attitude (always working)
- Favorite Match: NorthWood (fighting off an intensely close match) or Goshen (all of the work coming together for a win over a rival)

Flexibility Award: Ethan Claassen
- Changed his partner, multiple times during challenges, and then once during season. Always brought his best!
- Favorite Match: Goshen or Elkhart (really figured out how to use big forehand late in season)

Quiet Improvement: Preston Miller
- Not a loud person, silent working, always listening
- Favorite Match: Triton, really put his groundstrokes together and had an exciting match

Excellent Teammate: Ender Finnigan
- Could always hear his voice calling out to people on the videos when I was editing 🙂
- Favorite Match: Last Fairfield match, just the way you and Silas were competing!

Most Important Person: Dominic Ramer
- The most important person on a team is the one who has to deal with disappointment, but still support the team. Dom was awesome at this!
- Favorite Match: Triton on Senior Night, really stepped up and played loose and with joy!

Coach on the Court: Gideon Miller
- Would often search for improvement on his own time, but then also take what he learned and try to share with others.
- Favorite Match: Sectional, because it was dominating tennis at a crucial time

Positive Leadership and Sportsmanship: Keagan Meyer
- In every practice and match, we looked for Keagan's voice. He started the echoes, he helped determine who we were as a team.
- Favorite Match: Northridge, big match, under pressure - bringing home a victory.

MVP: Noah Schrock
- The best player on the team. The record setter. The all-star. Noah accomplished a lot this season!
- Favorite Match: Westview or Wawasee. Wawasee because it was intense! Westview because of your vocal encouragement of your teammates!

Go For It: Emerson Landis
- This was the season that Emerson truly overcame the nerves and just went for it, and showed our team how to do it to.
- Favorite Match: Northridge, because it was pure joy!
