Prairie Heights Preview

Last Season Review: Last season we defeated the Panthers 5-0. The Panthers were an experienced team, but didn't have the depth that we did last season. They had 4 seniors who had played 3 years on the varsity, and will be missing those accomplished players this year.

Prairie Heights Details: The only match reports I have on Prairie Heights come from their involvement in the Fremont tournament two weekends ago. In that tournament, the Panthers placed above Fremont by five points, but still ended in 3rd out of 4. Their #2 doubles squad went 2-1 on the day, defeating Fremont and Fort Wayne South Side in two super tiebreakers. The Panthers went winless at #1 doubles and #3 singles in the tourney.

Bethany Christian Details: We played Laville last night at home and won 5-0. That takes us to 6-2 on the season. We've now won 5 straight after losing to Concord, 3 of those matches have been by 5-0 scores. This season has patterns similar to last season, which is good news for this team!

#2D - Nick Rebec/Russell Klassen (BC) vs. Danny Hamm/Tyler Carbone (PH)

Outlook: Prairie Heights returns only 3 from last year's varsity, and we return only one. But we have got off to a good start and our new players are gaining experience and confidence rapidly. We defeated their JV last season, and since most of the players in the match played at that level last year, we could draw connections from there. Hopefully, if we play to our ability, this match will end the same way that last year's JV match did.
