Northridge Preview
Details: August 19, 2010 at 4:30. To be played at Bethany Christian High School.
Last Season Review: Northridge defeated Bethany Christian 4-1, at Northridge. Click here for last season's match report.
3 Interesting Facts:
- Bethany Christian has never defeated Northridge in tennis.
- BC sophomore Nate Brendle transferred from Northridge this school year.
- Northridge is integrating 5 new varsity players into their lineup from last year.
Northridge Details: Northridge's team record stands at 0-0 as they open the season against the Bruins tomorrow. On Thursday, the Raiders conducted a scrimmage against the East Noble Knights, but the results were not published anywhere. The Raiders compete in the Northern Lakes Conference, but obviously have yet to open up season play in the conference.
Bethany Christian Details: We played a strong scrimmage against Angola on Thursday, leading 10 segments and trailing only in 5. The preseason has been good to us, with no injuries to report as of now! This is our first match of the season as well.
Projected Northridge Lineup:
Understand please that these are educated guesses based on last season's lineup and the Elkhart Truth tennis preview. I've got no inside track right now, as Northridge hasn't played a match yet.
#1S: Nick Myers
#2S: AJ Thielking
#3S: Chris Robbins
#1D: David Long/Andrew Gingerich
#2D: Connor Cameron /Doug Jakubowicz
Outlook:
This is as good of a chance as we've had to defeat the Raiders. While very strong at #1 singles, and the whole team worked hard throughout the offseason, the Raiders are still an inexperienced varsity team. We are not. We have 5 players with significant experience returning, and none of our players are even moving up the lineup. So we should have a shot. We've worked hard and they've worked hard, and whatever happens, I think this match will be competitive and hopefully fun for all - players, coaches and spectators.

Who let the dogs out?! Way to go boys! Do you know that you just put fear into Goshen and Corcord? You just earned instant respect by knocking off Northridge. Goshen you should win. Concord will be on notice because you knocked off one of the big boys! Don't let your guard down and put on your game faces on because the dance has started!
