Triton Preview

Details: September 4, 2010 at Bethany Christian High School. Match starts at 10:00 AM.

Last Season Review: We defeated Triton in a thriller, 3-2. Match report is here.

3 Interesting Facts:
- All matches I have played against Triton have been 3-2 wins or 5-0 wins.
-
- Triton's #1 singles player, Jeff Ross, lived with our #3 singles player Nate Brendle some during the summer, and they played doubles matches together at tournaments.

Triton Details: The Trojans are 3-2 on the season. So far, they've defeated Rochester, Mishawaka and Laville. Their match with Rochester was much closer than ours, as they won 3-2 and Rochester's coach felt like they really had some chances to win. Their losses come 2-3 to Knox and 2-3 to Mishawaka Marian. So they are just 2 matches away from being undefeated at this point in the season.

Bethany Christian Details: We beat Prairie Heights this Tuesday, so our record is 8-1. We played our best tennis of the season at the Concord Invite on Saturday, so that probably means we'll bring it again this weekend!

Projected Triton Lineup:
#1S: Jeff Ross (1-3)
#2S: Pete Kauffman (3-1)
#3S: Jackson Downing (2-1)
#1D: Jordan Everett-Austin Davis (4-0)
#2D: Josh Shafer-Austin Kanaar (3-1)

Outlook: Triton graduated several players from their outstanding team last year, and we bring back a very strong lineup. This year, the Trojans have made a very good start, and have winning records at most of their individual positions. We have a strong team too, so this should be a fun matchup. More than anything, I'm looking for my guys to come out playing their best tennis, because that needs to become a focus, a habit for our team. If we do that, we will win the match.
