The Gregor Award

The Gregor Award goes to the member of our tennis team who makes us laugh the most. Obviously, in spending two straight months together, from long, hot August practices to rainy September bus rides, we have many opportunities to partake in some hilarious joking with one another. Last year, Ike Lehman won this award for the continued cuteness and absurdity that he brought to the team. No one reached that level this year.

But what we did have is someone who would constantly find something to make us laugh. When Nate was down during a match, he would try to think of a joke to cheer Nate up. He would lead the homecoming bus rides, as everyone would try to crowd around his seat in the back of the bus. He was the first to laugh at the silly things that would happen during practice, and point them out for everyone else to laugh at. He was self-deprecating enough to laugh at his own flaws as well, which helped people let down their guard. He wore ridiculous sunglasses so we could laugh at him (oh, maybe that's not why he wore them). His group's night out video including the hilarity of him wrestling with a soccer team member and going through a car wash on top of the car. When he runs, he waddles.

For these reasons and more, the 2nd annual Gregor Award goes to:
