Fremont Preview

Details: Thursday, 4:45 at Fremont High School

Last Season Review: Last season we defeated the Eagles 5-0, with close matches at #3 singles and #1 doubles.

3 Interesting Facts:
- The Eagles are an experienced team, returning 5 players from last year's varsity.
- The Eagles did a team camp experience much like our own this summer, visiting Ludington, MI together for a week.
- Crazy weather fact: Four years ago when we visited Fremont, a tornado warning stopped our match before it ended.

Fremont Details: The Eagles come in at 1-1 on the season, having defeated West Noble and lost to FW Northrup. However, in between those matches the Eagles won their own invitational this weekend (against FW Snider, Leo, and FW South Side). They won 3 positions (#1S, #2S, #1D) and finished 2nd at #2D. They are riding momentum as they won over West Noble Monday.

Bethany Christian Details: We come into this match off of another crazy close match against Columbia City, which we lost 3-2. Our season record is now at 3-3.

Projected Fremont Lineup:
#1S: Matt Hoff (4-1)
#2S: Matt Wilcox (3-1)
#3S: Brandon Miller (2-3)
#1D: Tyler Jenkins/Jake Bryant (5-0)
#2D: Glen McLain/Andrew Smith (4-1)

Outlook: This is going to be a difficult matchup for us. A challenging one. There is no getting around that. The Eagles are a vastly improved team, bringing back talent, experience and a good work ethic. I'm sure that they expect this to be a big year for them, especially within their conference with Westview and Fairfield suffering personnel losses, and Fremont finished 4th behind them last year. We will certainly need to be on our best games to win the match, but again, this will be a chance for a memorable finish. Unlike Columbia City, we hope this time it will be memorable for the better!
