Triton Preview

Details: Saturday, September 3, at 10:00 AM at Triton High School.

Last Season Review: Last season we defeated Triton 4-1.

3 Interesting Facts
- Triton switched their lineup around in their match against Whitko like we did for Prairie Heights. #1 singles player Jeff Ross dropped to #1 doubles, but I don't know if this will be a 1 time switch or a new lineup.
- Over the years, Triton is the team that I've had the most 3-2 matches with.
- The Trojans are the opposite of us this year, we lost 5 varsity players, they return 5.

Triton Details: The Trojans are at least 4-2 on the season, losing to Plymouth and to Marian (as did Goshen). They are experienced and talented, with a good JV as well.

Bethany Christian Details: We're back above .500, with a 2 match winning streak coming off Monday and Tuesday. Practices have been going well this week, as certain spots have really continued to learn and gain skill.

Projected Triton Lineup (with as up-to-date as possible individual records)
#1S - Jeff Ross (3-3)
#2S - Pete Kauffman (3-3)
#3S - Lucas Shafer (4-2)
#1D - Josh Shafer/Austin Kanaar (5-1)
#2D - Jackson Downing/Wil Rettinger (4-2)

Overview: This match is cut in the mold of the Columbia City and Fremont matches. In other words, it's going to be close, it's going to come down to the end. The key to take away from those other close matches that we lost is that whoever aggressively plays their game in tight circumstances usually gets the win. This is where we get to practice for Sectional. No matter what happens, we'll gain some experience and some confidence, knowing we get to play matches that matter.
