The Fruits of our Labor
Trophies Won:
- 1st Sectional title in boys tennis history!
- 1st Wayne Tennis Invitational title (by winning more every position!)
- 1st Jimtown JV Invitational title (by winning more than every position!)
Record:
- 15-5 (most wins under Matt)
- 75% winning percentage (plaque here we come!)
- actually 18-5 against other team's varsities (beat Laville, Trader's Point, and Howe Military's varsities with our JV)
Individual Records:
- #2 Doubles (Daniel and Mikey), 20 wins, most in program history
- #2 Singles (Jared Schwartzentruber), 19 wins, most at #2 Singles
- Luke Hostetter, 45 career varsity victories, most in career at #1 singles
- Daniel Buschert, highest career varsity winning percentage, 80%
Team Records:
- 1st victory over Jimtown
- 1st time defeating all sectional opponents during regular season
- 1st time under Matt that all positions had winning records
Great Memories:
- Sealing up the Sectional
- Daniel and Mikey's third set comeback against Fairfield
- Jumping out quick and shocking Penn with a 4-1
- The JV's undefeated season (16-0 baby, with 3 wins over varsities!)
- Jared's sweet match at NorthWood to seal the win
- Matthew's domination of senior night
- Senior night in general, playing great tennis
- Night Out (shirtless slow-mo at Kroger?)
- Playing two of our best matches in the last two matches of the year
- Making up advertising slogans for a certain insurance agency in Churubusco
- Luke and Jared's ridiculous hiding spot for hide-and-go seek
- Dominating the Jimtown JV Invite (wins at every spot, including playing for Concord)
- "Mr. Smooth" at the Wayne Invitational
- 2 trips to the Wand, 2 trips to Pizza King
- Hitting a straw bale on the way to Angola
- "I bet that car gets a bunch of gas mileage."
- Blessing random people (and ending up in the paper:-)
- The frustrating rain becoming a blessing
- "You sir..." and "Deathstick" in the same match!
- Matt showing up to team camp practice without shoes
Leave any other ones you wish in the comments!

New Records Established in 2007

Some new records were set during this past tennis season and I just wanted to take this spot to acknowledge those records. I am in the process of trying to uncover old records, from the seasons before I coached. So be aware that some of these records might change again if that information becomes available. But for now, these new records have been set!
Most Wins in a Season: Jonny Shenk and Luke Hostetter (16)
Most 3rd Sets Won (Career): Luke Hostetter (6)
Highest 3rd Sets Won Percentage (Career): Luke Hostetter (85.7%)
Highest Games Won Percentage (Career): Jonny Shenk (61.8%)
Most Matches Won in 1st Varsity Season: Jonny Shenk (16)
There were some close misses as well. Jeremy and Johnny had 15 victories this year, which would have tied the previous record. Daniel Buschert had 14 victories in his first varsity season, which would have defeated the old record of 13, but for Kashmar's impressive 16. Enjoy your places in history!
I don't keep as many JV records, but I know these fell this season:
Most JV wins in a season: Ben Mast (11)
Also, Seth Krabill won 9, which would have beaten the previous mark of 8 if not for Ben. It was a good season all around for Bethany Christian tennis, we hope to see more records drop next year
