Moment of Beauty #4 - Mishawaka
Awwww, another moment of beauty report. I love settling in here at the keyboard and describing to you the points and shots that just capture my mind. I wish I had the videos, I wish we had videos, that would make these even more impressive.
Again, three go out today. First to were both aces, one beautiful shot to end a point. Both were delivered to the deuce side of the court, hit with pace and moving away from the returners forehand. For Luke Hostetter, he almost drove his player into the fence! For Jeremy Thomas, the returning opponent kept moving to his right and moving to his right but could never catch up to the spin that kept the ball running away from him.
The third moment of beauty came in Jared Schwartzentruber's match. While Jared served well, it wasn't a serve. It was a rally of baseline strokes, where eventually Jared got a shorter shot. I can't describe very well, but Jared approach shot was a thing of beauty. He swept in for the ball and just swept it into the forehand corner of his opponent. The Mishawaka player had been in the backhand corner, so he hustled and reached for the ball, but it was just far enough away that he couldn't get a clean hit, and he dumped it very short, not even making it to the net. It was such a graceful shot on Jared's part. Hard to describe, but gorgeous!
