Playing tennis is a physical "battle," often with long points, sets, and games played in hot and humid August conditions. But most players will honestly tell you that the toughest aspect of tennis is the mental game.
Here are some unbelievably "right-on" articles about dealing with the mental game. This is required reading for all Bethany Christian tennis players. And preferably, as soon as you can. Sit down, pull up a chair, and enjoy!
1. Tennis is Messy
2. How to Improve Self-Confidence
3. Having 100% Confidence
We've talked before about how confidence comes not from believing that you can win, but believing in the work that you've put in - in other words, knowing what you can do. Tennis is a game of mistakes, we can't control the fact that we're going to make errors. It's so important to have a mental approach to the game that allows us to deal with these mistakes. We're a strong and focused team this year, so I look forward to watching this grow.
