Chapter 20 - vs. Howe

For there is good news yet to hear and fine things to be seen...
- from "The Rolling English Road" by G.K. Chesterton

And the regular season has come to a close. What a blessing it has been. I want to save more words for an end of season post.

Today, our young players came to play. Byeong Min, Bryce, Lane, Simon are all freshman who are picking up the second of their many future varsity wins. One of you (I dare you), beat Nathan Brendle's record of 51. You only have 50 more to go.

Our older players solidified excellent seasons. Ryan Duckworth check in with 15 wins, Neel Bhagat with 10 and Justin Zehr ends his senior season with the most number of wins he's ever compiled, double digits at 10.

Other successes came today as well. Jackson King lost his first three matches this year, then won 6 straight. Brandon Nguyen mostly played doubles this year but snagged a singles victory. Matthew Peters was able to avoid a losing record with a last win.

But it was a relaxed, fun finish to the season. The varsity guys were glad to stay on cheer on the next generation of Bruin stars, to eat pizza and cheer on their friends. It was just a fun day of playing tennis. I can't wait for a couple more.
